Mechanocatalytic Oxidative Cracking of Poly(ethylene) Via a Heterogeneous Fenton Process

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this work, mechanocatalytic oxidative cracking is used to overcome the chemical inertness of poly(ethylene) (PE) and difficulties associated with processing solid feedstock. An Fe2O3-based Fenton system applied introduce oxygen-based functional groups PE backbone hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. Once an group introduced, polymer chain can be cleaved achieve effectivity, only CO, CO2, O2, H2O byproducts. The resulting fragments intermediates produce fuels sustainable chemicals.

Efficient Removal of Diclofenac from Pharmaceutical Wastewater Using Impregnated Zeolite Catalyst in Heterogeneous Fenton Process

In this study, we report removal of Diclofenac (DCF) through heterogeneous Fenton process using Fe-ZSM-5 catalyst. The parent catalyst was prepared by hydrothermal technique. Fe species were introduced by wet impregnation. Characterization of the catalysts was carried out using XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, N2 adsorption-desorption, NH3-TPD, and acidimetric-alkalimetric titration. The bimetallic catalyst...

Kinetic Modeling of a Heterogeneous Fenton Oxidative Treatment of Petroleum Refining Wastewater

The mineralisation kinetics of petroleum refinery effluent (PRE) by Fenton oxidation were evaluated. Within the ambit of the experimental data generated, first-order kinetic model (FKM), generalised lumped kinetic model (GLKM), and generalized kinetic model (GKM) were tested. The obtained apparent kinetic rate constants for the initial oxidation step (k'2), their final oxidation step (k'1), and...

Removal of Anionic Brown 14 and Cationic Blue 41 dyes via Fenton Process

Textile wastewater contains a number of dyes which are known to be toxic and carcinogenic. In this study the results show that the Fenton (Fe2+/H2O2) process is an efficient method for the removal of Acid Brown 14 (A.BR14) and Cationic Blue 41 (C.B41) dyes from textile wastewater. In this method, two reagents Fe2+and H2O2 are used and do not require any additional energy. Several experiment...

Treatment of Actual Chemical Wastewater by a Heterogeneous Fenton Process Using Natural Pyrite.

Wastewater from chemical plants has remarkable antibiotic effects on the microorganisms in traditional biological treatment processes. An enhanced Fenton system catalyzed by natural pyrite was developed to degrade this kind of wastewater. Approximately 30% chemical oxygen demand (COD) was removed within 120 min when 50 mmol/L H₂O₂ and 10 g/L natural pyrite were used at initial pH from 1.8 to 7....

Heterogeneous Fenton Process Using the Mineral Hematite for the Discolouration of a Reactive Dye Solution

This work reports a study on the heterogeneous Fenton reaction using hematite powder (Fe2O3) in suspension for the discolouration of the reactive dye Drimarene Red X-6BN in aqueous solutions. The efficiency of the process was studied as a function of the experimental conditions: initial pH; H2O2 dose; and hematite powder concentration; all of which showed a strong effect on the reaction kinetic...
